RECIPE: Peanut Butter Cream Cheese Crumble

I actually created this recipe out of a craving for cream cheese and peanut butter. I’m also a junkie for golden Oreos, and thought that they would make a really lovely crust if crushed. Here is the result! Let me know if you make it…I’m curious if the amazingness was a fluke, or if I really hit upon something great here.

Ingredients and directions:
1 lb Betty Crocker peanut butter cookie mix
1 egg
2 T vegetable oil
3 T peanut butter

Mix these together in a bowl, set aside. In another bowl, combine with hand blender, then set aside:

8 oz cream cheese, softened at room temperature
1/3 c. confectioner’s sugar (powdered sugar)

Crush enough golden oreos to completely line the bottom of an 8×8 inch glass baking pan. I think I probably used a dozen or so. Ideally, use a food processor to make the crumbles very fine.

Spread the peanut butter cookie mixture over the crumbled Oreos. You’ll probably have to use your hands, because the peanut butter will pick up the Oreo crumbs as you are trying to spread it.

Spread the cream cheese mixture over the peanut butter mixture, then bake at 375 for 13-15 minutes.

This is one of those recipes that will make your entire home smell incredible. And it turns out, the taste of these treats is incredible as well.
