NoDa is the North Davidson arts and entertainment district in Charlotte, and it is a deliciously quirky place. A lot may have changed in the last twelve years, but I remember it as colorful and bizarre, with brand-new graffiti decorating crumbling disrepair.
My interest in photography was just coalescing around this time, and I found it to be an absolute feast for my photographic eye. This was the first time I think I ever went on a “photo walk”, and experimented with composition, angles, and light. They’re not great, but they’re part of my history with photography, so I want them here on my blog.
All of these were taken with a Canon PowerShot A95 point and shoot camera – it would still be several months before I got my first DSLR. It was a good little camera. We actually still have it – I think I might get it out for Pumpkin to experiment with. She has an incredibly artistic eye.
