Leaving the hospital with our daughter was legitimately one of the scariest moments of my life. The enormity of responsibility that we’d just undertaken didn’t really hit me while we were in the hospital — we were taken care of so well by the staff at Carolinas Medical Center, everything was very structured and organized. Now, we were on our own.
Almost nine years later, I can still see some of this wee baby in my eldest’s face. I remember this day so well.
